Bisikan Pena is an ad-hoc initiative by NUS Malay Language Society, aimed at developing the creative writing talents of primary and secondary school students through workshops and engaging sessions. We also hold an annual showcase to present their finished works.
Sayang Packs
In line with Valentine's Day celebrations, I worked with the Marketing department to introduce the sales of our Sayang Packs (translation: Love Packs) to raise funds for the organisation's initiatives. We planned the contents and aesthetics of the packs to best appeal to the student population, and successfully hit our target profit amount.
Movie Screening
With the intent of raising funds for Bisikan Pena and providing a space for quality time amongst students, I organised and publicised a movie screening event. This involved reaching out to vendors for food, and contacting various student organisations to share event details with them.
We also incentivised outreach methods to attain a higher-number of sign-ups. We offered an exclusive discount to our previous fundraiser customers, which further pushed them to attend this event.
Mesra Pack Sales
Marking our first fundraiser event, I worked as a member of the Marketing Department to conceptualise and bring our welfare pack to life. We based it off the concept of the 5 love languages, which outlined the items we would include in the pack.
Post-idea development, we went on to contact vendors and settle on prices which would best benefit our fundraising initiative. We then worked out the best ways to present our sales to the public, and managed to collect over $1,600 in revenue.
